How do we reduce the onboarding time of our new employees? Reduce the time our new shop employees need to be productive and viable and prepare them for working in our shops.
The target audience consisted for a great part of parttime employees and students, who weren’t always available for a fulltime onboarding program. New employees had to get familiar with a lot of mobile devices, subscription offers and more than 20 computersystems in a short period of time.
We designed an onboarding who perfectly fit the company culture and the target audience. We designed based on the Pokemon Principles, our own learning principles which we analysed from the game Pokemon Go.
The program consisted of five different levels which participants had to achieve. In each level the particpants could receive lot of badges, as a reward for accomplishing challenges. Those reallife badges were rewarded by their manager or by the trainer.
The program consisted of four days group training. In between those four days participants could learn via online courses and challenges for in their shops. Through the combination of levels, badges, challenges, keeping close contact with their managers and one Final Challenge the pressure to succeed was on.
